Part of a commitment to the community to educate about healthy relationships, Mike Flanagan worked with Hill Country Clinic to write, produce and perform a play using local teens.
The event was a huge success with over 100 people attending.

Drama Workshop

Thanks to a grant from Shasta Women's Refuge, Mike Flanagan was able to perform an intimate acting workshop with The Intermountain Teen Center in Round Mountain, Ca.
The 3 day program sparked the eventual creation of the play HILL Country which was performed later the next year.

Seven Jewish Children is a play by Caryl Churchill written in response to the crisis in Gaza. . It is a terse history of Israel, from the Holocaust to the bombing of Gaza. While powerful, it treats the subject with the subtlety it deserves.

Featuring the various works of our 100+ members, Blue Moon was our Holiday Party that allowed members to relax, connect, network and perform as well as nominate new members. We had several variations of performance and the night ended in a "jam" session of current and potential Root members.

Hunter's Moon was a multi-city showcase held in Chico and Redding during October. Under the guidance of Root co-founder Dean Williams Hunter's Moon was an eclectic blend of performance Art. The following music video was a song written by Root member Ty Webby and performed at both showcases.
