What is The Root?
An artistic alliance of creative people spanning the globe, The Root is based out of Northern California with an emphasis on contemporary theatrical works as well as art of a high quality. Membership is based upon nomination and an adherence to The Root code of conduct.
What does it do?
Created in 2009 by Dean Williams, Robert Soffian and Mike Flanagan, The Root creates performance environments for it's members so that they may expand their talents while enlightening their communities via their art. The Root taps into the source & essence of the human experience, into dark places, bringing deep elements of emotion into the light. It extends its reach to underlying truth, to origin, to essence, nourishing with an experience that is greater than the sum of its parts.
What is next?
When not producing theatre works, from time to time Member Showcases are performed in various venues across the north state. The Root strives to create works of high artistic value as well as educate it's community via workshops, classes and such.
